MEMORIAL DAY 

ARDMORE CEMETERY, ARDMORE, OKLAHOMA

EACH YEAR CAMP 2000 PLACES  CONFEDERATE BATTLE STICK FLAGS ON CONFEDERATE VETERANS GRAVES.  A MEMORIAL SERVICE IS ALSO HELD AT THE ARDMORE VETERANS HOME AND CEMETERY. WE ALSO REPAIR AND REPLACE ANY MISSING GRAVE MARKERS.

 

OKLAHOMA STATE CONFEDERATE PENSION RECORDS

A PROJECT THAT IS CURRENTLY UNDERWAY AT THE OKLAHOMA STATE DEPARTMENT OF LIBRARIES IS THE CONVERSION OF OKLAHOMA CONFEDERATE VETERANS PENSION RECORDS TO TEXT AND DIGITIZED IMAGES TO PRESERVE THE FRAGILE DOCUMENTS AND MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO BE ABLE TO SEARCH AND OBTAIN COPIES OF THESE DOCUMENTS WHEN THE PROJECT IS COMPLETE. THIS PROJECT IS BEING DIRECTED BY CAMP 2000 LIEUTENANT COMMANDER LARRY DOBBS WHO IS A NETWORK ENGINEER WITH THE OKLAHOMA DEPARTMENT OF LIBRARIES. THERE ARE CURRENTLY 5783 RECORDS AND 100,000 DOCUMENTS ON FILE.

OBTAINING COPIES OF PENSION RECORDS

To obtain copies of Oklahoma Confederate Veterans pension records email the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, indicate in the dropdown menu  Archives, in the comments section include your name and address, the application number of the record, obtained from the online index, and your request will be handled as quickly as possible. Larry Dobbs is the only known SCV member to be actively involved with pension records preservation and has been working on the project for over five years.
